With the warmer weather here, your hydration needs may be changing as you need access to more water, when training outside. Carrying your water and planning where to fill up along the way are essential. But what hydration system is right for you? This recent article from REI.com goes into great detail on how to choose your hydration pack from type, fit, capacity and features. But one of the challenges is that FIT, has limitations for plus size athletes, in that most hydration belts typically max out at waist of 44 - 47″. You could use a hydration backpack which are available without waist belts and are ideal for your longer distances, but what if you are going for a shorter walk or run?
There is nothing more uncomfortable that wearing a tight hydration belt, so I’ve pulled together 4 other options that are plus size friendly to help keep you hydrated while moving. I’ve provided 2 links for you to view in more detail: affiliate links (should you decide to buy, which help cover the costs for running Born to Reign Athletics) and non-affiliate links:
FuelBelt Hydration Extender - use with any FuelBelt hydration belt system by attaching this extender via velcro and extend your belt by an additional 7 to 20 inches.
Running Buddy Magnetic Personal Pouch - a belt free option that connects to any waist band holding a 7 oz water bottle.
FuelBelt Slice Palm Holder - ergonomic shaped bottle held in your hand that holds 18 oz.
Hydrosleeve - hands free hydration system with anti slosh bottles holding 7.5 oz. You can wear on your forearm or upper arm, with the large fitting up to 20 inches.

Thank you for this! That extender may be in my future purchases if my hydration belt is too tiny!
Hi Katie - I also found out that SportivePlus carries hydration belts that automatically fit up to a size 3X/4X. I will be uploading the article to reflect this.
